Which characters can be used on NoyzHub?

NoyzHub uses modern Unicode encoding, allowing accents, umlauts, typographic apostrophes and many characters from international writing systems to be stored.

Examples include:

• é, è, ê, ë, à, ç and œ;
• ä, ö, ü and ß;
• ñ, á, í, ó and ú;
• Greek, Cyrillic and other Unicode characters.

Can you keep the original spelling of an artist or location?

Yes. Whenever possible, use the official spelling of an artist, band, venue, festival, city or organization.

Accurate spelling improves search results, helps prevent duplicate pages and respects the identity of the project.

Why do some characters change in the page address?

The visible title and the URL do not always follow the same rules. A URL needs to remain simple, stable and compatible with web browsers.

NoyzHub may therefore remove accents, replace certain characters or use hyphens in the slug while preserving the original writing in the displayed title.

For example, a page called “Événement à Köln” may use a simplified address while keeping its original title on the page.

What should you do when a name has several written forms?

Use the official name in its original language. When it helps visitors, add a transcription or explanation in the biography.

Avoid placing several alternative forms in the main name unless they are officially part of the project’s identity.

Do international characters work in search?

Search can use the saved name and normalized forms. To improve results, check the exact spelling and complete the other page information correctly.

If a page already exists with another spelling, do not immediately create a duplicate. First check whether it can be claimed or corrected.

Can emojis be used?

The technical encoding can support many symbols, but availability depends on the field. Emojis should not replace a clear name, title or description.

For public pages and professional information, use readable and restrained wording.

What should you do when a character is displayed incorrectly?

1. Check that the text was copied from a normal source and not from a document using decorative font characters.
2. Type the character directly into the field.
3. Save and reload the page.
4. Try another browser if the issue continues.
5. Report the issue to NoyzHub and include the character, page and field concerned.
